STFC’s Engineering Experience Programme 2025/26

07 Apr 2026

In March, we were delighted to celebrate the conclusion of this year's Engineering Experience Programme (EEP) at RAL. The EEP empowers local sixth form students to tackle an engineering challenge set by their STFC mentors and get a taste of what working as an engineer is really like.

Five young people stand in a row holding certificates at chest height in front of a large screen that reads “Congratulations.” Logos for the Engineering Experience Programme and the Science and Technology Facilities Council appear above the text. The group is joined by a woman in business attire, standing to the right.
Students celebrate their achievement at the Engineering Experience Programme's celebration event.

We greatly appreciate the Technology staff members who got involved and supported their projects, which included:

  • Satellite Tracker
  • Magnetic Levitation
  • Oscilloscope
  • Autonomous Vehicle
  • Functional Safety Lab
  • Robotic Arm

The students presented their findings to the judging panel at the celebration event last month. It was a rewarding experience to see how much they achieved over the last six months.

We look forward to next year’s programme, which will be led by Technology graduate Vivek Mistry.
