Electronic System Design

We provide expert design of data acquisition and processing systems that range from single off-the-shelf boards running custom firmware to large systems comprising multiple fully custom PCB designs. These systems are often required to process large amounts of data with minimal latency, and we have particular expertise in the design of high-speed PCBs.

FPGAs are normally at the core of our systems, providing fast and flexible processing power and implementing high-bandwidth transmission protocols, such as multi-Gb Ethernet. We have many years of experience managing large FPGA firmware projects across multiple designers.

We have provided and support systems that are crucial for STFC’s ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, the ATLAS experiment on the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, and the Square Kilometre Array radio telescope, amongst many others.
